Programs, Orphans & Handicapped

February in Kurdistan at MFI was a beautiful and busy month! We were blessed to have two volunteer groups with us and together we ran 37 Programs in multiple camps, completed two orphan distributions, and a distribution for the disabled. One of the distributions for orphans was in Kurdistan, Northern Iraq and the second distribution for orphans was in N.E.S (North East Syria)!

As always, God has been so faithful to provide for us and bless us in wonderful ways- from the finances for distributions even to the number of children that came to classes despite the cold!

Food Packets for Orphans

This January we were able to prepare and distribute food packets with loving care for 111 orphans in an IDP Camp in Kurdistan, Northern Iraq. These children are orphaned due to war crimes that have been committed. We are grateful for the partnership of Arche Hilfsdienste International who also donated towards this cause.

It was a joy filled day for the MFI staff as we prepared the food packets and watched each child receive it!

2022 Community Center in Camp Overview

Kabarto Camp— we thank God for all that He has done within this camp in 2022! In MFI’s Community Center there have been a variety of programs ranging from; English courses, Community Development, Dance/Aerobics, Beauty Salon, Embroidery, German, Children’s Programs, Volleyball, Soccer and many more.

It has been special going into the community meeting families, orphans, and ISIS survivors. Stories connect people and sitting over a glass of tea hearing about their lives is an experience that will leave you marked. Each person has a unique tale and realizing where they are now and how their families continue to grow despite hard times is an amazing thing. Being with the children on the playground in the community center is so beautiful. Seeing how the children care for each other and even bring little babies to partake in the fun gives us great joy!
